OLI Lectures for Second Week to Focus on Exodus

The beginning of the second week of OLI training for students introduced the book of Exodus through the series of lectures that will be taught by Pastor Jiyhe in Dover, New York. These precious teachings will be able to guide the students on how to apply the teachings found in the old testament book into their walk of faith by revealing the movement of God and the workings of the Holy Spirit before the cross and Jesus Christ. The first initial lectures were very powerful and meaningful and the students are receiving grace realizing just how deep the Word of God is.

In the opening lecture, it was explained how the teaching of the word is not meant to be done in bits and pieces, but with the entirety of its message given all at once. The focus should be to convey the fear of God and His love. Through the example of Moses and how he was raised by the Egyptians, it becomes revealed how God is able to use anyone for His greater purpose, even the very people oppressing the nation of Israel. Through Moses, it is revealed how much time it can take to develop someone into a person that God can work through. Issues like arrogance and anger needs to be torn down before anyone can truly serve God with an honest and upright heart.

Through the reflections, students have clearly grasped the concept of their own roles as people who can intercede for an entire nation to come, and as followers of Christ, they have this responsibility to lead others to see the glory of the Lord that He reveals through them. Students expressed that they want to root out the anger in their lives and in their communities so that they can live and offer a life of holiness before the Lord that can be accepted.

In the second lecture, the lecturer addressed the perspective that one must have before God. It is impossible to approach God without recognizing that He is holy and above all other things. Without this heart, arrogance becomes the foundation of our lives and we fail to see God's purpose. Moses had to learn what it means to be humble before the Lord. Additionally, those who seek God to move powerfully and in spectacle in their lives will not see these kinds of miracles if that is their only expectation. God indeed moves greatly, but only through the people who are willing to serve in all situations and difficulties. God works in the impossible, it is only Him who can overcome, but man is expected to serve through the ordinary and everyday life to show faithfulness and a true heart.
