Tokyo kicked off its new campaign called 'Awakening Transformation by God's word and prayer'.
"There are two pillars of the awakening that we are experiencing right now," Pastor Daichi Ogata, a minister in Tokyo stated "as we see there are the two main areas - God's word and prayer - in which we have to make significant changes as individuals and in our church so that we can move forwards and evolve towards nationwide revival."
Through the meeting for discussions on effective mission strategy, ministers of Tokyo church drew a conclusion that God keeps telling us, through prophetic visions, to be enlighten by the word of God & prayer and to ask holy spirit.
"The campaign began last week. As respects God's word, it is to share daily devotionals with meditating on God's word based on its exploration of broad areas in one theme. Seeking a deeper understanding of the salvation, we will continue to meditate with the theme of 'Restoration of Faith' from Romans." P. Ogata said.
"Also, with the theme of 'Rediscovery of God' in the Book of Exodus, we are to learn to be transformed and renewed in the presence of a holy God. And as we read the four Gospels, we are carefully guided to see the life of Jesus Christ."
As respects prayer, with a renewed focus and emphasis on their roles as shepherds of the flock of God, ministers set the details of intercessory prayer arrangements like below.
- Pray for all members to support by checking their situation each day in teamwork
- Pray for all members to be enlightened by the word and prayer in God's presence
- Pray for all members to walk in purity before the living God
"While these two pillars of God's word & prayer are really basic things, it is the bread-and-butter issues for mission," a minister shared "I see the necessity of enlightenment of the word of God in our lives."
