On Aug 13, summer leadership retreat was held in San Francisco. Pastor Jacob delivered messages on the theme of the retreat which is "For in this hope we were saved." He delivered the message with the scriptures from Romans 8:2-14, Colossians 3:1-6, 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, Galatians 5:16-18.
We are precious not because how much we are worthy but because how much God paid for us. God has a lot joy just by looking at our life itself. When we walk the path of sanctification, it like washing our cloth. We should remember that God always forgive me unconditionally even sometimes our cloth is dirty again. We will have peaceful heart when we have this assurance. Pastor Jacob shared.
Pastor Jacob also remind everyone always want to listen to the word of God. Once the Holy Spirit enters your heart, you can change immediately. We were saved for in this hope. Our change will surely happen sooner or later.
Attendees meditated on the word of God's grace and reflect on that because of only God's grace they can walk the path of faith. They were renewed in spirit looking forward to run for the kingdom of God powerfully with the new grace receiving on this retreat. .
The next day was followed by Sunday Service & Closing Service by reading the scripture from Romans 8:14-25.
We are the children of God that have authorities. We do not need to despair, because we understand that there is glory after suffering. God want to give us eternal glory rather than worldly glory. That is why we have hope. For the bitterness is temporary. Attendees read the scripture from Galatians 4:1-7 and First Corinthians 15:19.
"Today's message comforted me a lot. Because I worry about so much things and have no peace in my heart. But Today's message reminds that God is in control on everything. Jesus was carrying much heavier burden which is our sins. But God give him glory after he went through all these things." One member shared in a group.
