The 2016 New York Summer Leadership Retreat concluded on August 21st. The three-day retreat had over 200 leaders attended for the closing service of the retreat from the entire region.
The retreat program was formulated with the theme of the "Kingdom of Heaven Is Like..." A total of six messages and sermons were preached based on Matthew Chapter 13 in a series of parables interpreting how God's kingdom comes on earth, as described in Jesus' teaching.
The lectures illuminated the correct understanding and perspective on the theme which addresses how God's will is ultimately fulfilled on earth. Lectures addressed the many different parables that Jesus addressed about the Kingdom of Heaven, including the parable of the field, the pearl of great price, the treasure hidden in a field, and the net. Many members received immense grace that reminded them of their first hearts and gave them determination to continually serve the Kingdom of God.
Participants also joined in activities and programs which provided opportunities to get to know one another and share the Word more profoundly. The first day ended with a prayer led by the Elim Center. The second night was nourished with a Jubilee and worship prayer. On the final day of the retreat there was a time of testimony where members could express how the time spent at the retreat had affected them spiritually and allowed their faith to grow. Many of the members shared that they felt they had been changed for the better and were thankful for attending this time.
A group photo was taken of all those who attended before the serving of a delicious meal. The leaders reaffirmed the vision of Church planting and ministry expansion through the pastors' meeting after the retreat schedule ended.
