Emanuel Church in Dominican Republic is extending Bible School program to local education institutions.
Missionaries Jose Duarte and Glenda Duarte go to Instituto Politécnico Pilar Constanzo every month to give Bible messages and share Christian values since last year.
The church views this opportunity as a meaningful step forward in expansion of their network with school kids to preach the gospel and help them grow in knowing the truth of Jesus Christ. Currently, students in ages between 12 and 15 join the class to study the Word.
The first opportunity came through Missionary's own daughter who wished to see Teen Mission to open at her school.
The message was shared with the book of 1 Samuel in Chapter 15. The preacher explained the reason why King Saul was abandoned although he was the first honorable king of Israel. Prophet's call "to obey is better than sacrifice" was meditated and reminded to the children who wonder what are the true ways to be united with the Lord in life. Saul excelled with his skill in war and possessed strength to bring many victories. Yet, the proud king ignored the Word of the Lord and coped with results of the war on his own terms. The voice of the Lord solumnly rebuked his misdeed, which eventually discredited him from his throne.
"Giving this chance for students to learn Bible is meaningful not only to themselves but to their whole families. They share what they learn to their parents and they come to the church together one day," the missionary shared.
The church in Santo Domingo is in intial stage of Church planting in the city with vision to share the Gospel and reach different age groups in the metropolitan area. The minister envisions ministries for youth and teens as a key driver of church growth towards the future.
