OA Europe to Launch Women's Conference Project

Olivet Assembly Europe is preparing to launch its Women's conference project next week. The event will be hosted by London Emmanuel Church on Saturday, November 21.

The women's conference hopes to better serve the needs of many mothers and women in the church, particularly guiding them to live a God-centered family life, work and service in ministry. One of the central themes for the conference is finding intimacy with God in the midst of a busy life.

The coordinators for the event received their inspiration from the story of Mary and Martha in Luke 10:38-42 and Joanna Weaver's book, "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World." Here is an excerpt:

"The life of a woman today isn't really all that different from that of Mary and Martha in the New Testament. Like Mary, every woman long to sit at the Lord's feet....but the daily demands of a busy world just won't leave them alone. Like Martha, many women love Jesus and really want to serve him....yet, they struggle with weariness, resentment, and feelings of inadequacy. Then comes Jesus, into the midst of their busy life, to extend the same invitation he issued long ago to the two sisters from Bethany. Tenderly, he invites all women to choose 'the better part'—a joyful life of intimacy with him that flows naturally into loving service", states the book of Joanna Weaver, author of the book Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World.

Special flyers were created specifically for this event, which will also be advertized on online social media platforms. On November 11, committee members met to finalize all preparations and details before the gathering.
