At the close of 2015, children at the Olivet Orphanage in India gathered together to celebrate the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ and the new and living hope that they have found in Him.

The orphanage is located in the east of India, near the Andhra-Orissa border, the outskirts of an area where Christians have experienced severe persecution in recent years.

Yet despite numerous external challenges, Olivet Orphanage continues to do what its name suggests-to serve the local community by influencing the lives of local orphans for Christ, by providing them with housing and an education. But more than merely looking out for the physical well-being of the children, the orphanage also gives children an opportunity to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Amidst difficulties, children celebrated through song and dance at the onset of the new year, a sign and display of the hope that they have found in Christ. A short message was given on the meaning of Christmas that God deeply loves and cares for His children and demonstrated His love by sending Jesus Christ, His one and only Son.

For the children, this was their first Christmas after becoming a part of the Olivet family, and children received new clothes, gifts, and sweets.
